October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

  • Breast cancer is the second most common kind of cancer in women. It also affects males, but is not as common. About 1 in 8 women born today in the United States will get breast cancer at some point.
  • A mammogram is an x-ray of the breast to check for breast cancer. It can help find breast cancer early. Women should start having mammograms every two years, at age 40, unless indicated otherwise.
  • Most women can survive breast cancer if found early.

Consider getting involved in your community to raise awareness for a cure!!
